Linking Words and Connectors for Writing (লেখার জন্য সংযোগকারী শব্দ)

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
Although it was raining, but we went out.
Although it was raining, we went out.
Don't use 'although' and 'but' together — one contrast word is enough.
I was late because. The bus was full.
I was late because the bus was full.
'because' joins two parts in one sentence; don't put a full stop straight after it.
However we tried, we failed.
However, we tried and failed.
As a transition word, 'However' needs a comma after it (However, ...); without one the meaning changes.
So, and, I went home.
So I went home.
Don't stack two linking words with the same job next to each other.
Tipsটিপস

- Put a comma after a connector that starts a sentence: 'However,' 'Therefore,' 'For example,'. — বাক্য শুরু করা connector-এর পরে comma দিন: 'However,' 'Therefore,' 'For example,'।
- Vary your words — use 'moreover' or 'in addition' instead of 'and' again and again. — শব্দ বদলান — বারবার 'and'-এর বদলে 'moreover' বা 'in addition' ব্যবহার করুন।
- Choose the connector that matches the meaning: contrast, cause, or result. — অর্থ অনুযায়ী connector বাছুন: বৈপরীত্য, কারণ, নাকি ফলাফল।

What are linking words in English?
They are words like 'and', 'but', 'because' and 'however' that connect ideas and show how they relate — adding, contrasting, or giving a reason or result.
Can I start a sentence with 'because'?
Yes, if the sentence has two parts: 'Because it rained, we stayed home.' Avoid leaving 'because' with only half a sentence.
What is the difference between 'but' and 'however'?
They both show contrast. 'but' joins two parts of one sentence; 'however' usually starts a new sentence and takes a comma: 'However, ...'.
How many linking words should I use in a paragraph?
Only as many as you need — usually two or three. Too many make writing feel forced and hard to read.
