A CV (curriculum vitae) is the first thing an employer reads about you. In Bangladesh, most good jobs ask for a CV in English, so a clear, well-organised CV can decide whether you get an interview.
CV (curriculum vitae) হলো একজন নিয়োগকর্তা আপনার সম্পর্কে প্রথম যা পড়েন। বাংলাদেশে বেশিরভাগ ভালো চাকরিতে ইংরেজিতে CV চাওয়া হয়, তাই পরিষ্কার ও সুসংগঠিত CV ঠিক করে দেয় আপনি ইন্টারভিউ পাবেন কিনা।

A CV is a short document (usually 1–2 pages) that lists your contact details, career objective, work experience, education and skills in a fixed, easy-to-scan order.
CV হলো ছোট একটি ডকুমেন্ট (সাধারণত ১–২ পৃষ্ঠা) যেখানে নির্দিষ্ট ও সহজে পড়া যায় এমন ক্রমে আপনার যোগাযোগের তথ্য, ক্যারিয়ার লক্ষ্য, কাজের অভিজ্ঞতা, শিক্ষা ও দক্ষতা থাকে।

একটি সাধারণ CV-এর ক্রম: (১) নাম ও যোগাযোগ (ফোন, ইমেইল, ঠিকানা), (২) Career Objective — এক-দুই লাইনে আপনি কী চান, (৩) Work Experience — সাম্প্রতিক চাকরি আগে, (৪) Education, (৫) Skills, (৬) References। প্রতিটি অভিজ্ঞতা লিখুন action verb দিয়ে — 'Managed', 'Developed', 'Increased'। তারিখ, বানান ও ফরম্যাট সব জায়গায় একরকম রাখুন। CV সবসময় সংক্ষিপ্ত bullet point-এ লিখুন, পুরো paragraph নয়, এবং আগের কাজ past tense-এ লিখুন।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
I am working in this company since 2019 and I doing many works.
Worked at ABC Ltd since 2019, handling daily operations.
A CV uses short, past-tense bullet points and action verbs — not full 'I' sentences.
Hobby: I like to watching movies and playing.
Interests: reading, football, volunteering.
List interests as short noun phrases; after 'to' use the base verb (to watch, not to watching).
Experiences: 5 years.
Work Experience: 5 years in retail sales.
'Experience' is uncountable here — don't add -s; and always say what the experience is in.
My father is a doctor and my village is very nice.

Personal or family details don't belong on a professional CV — keep it job-relevant.

- Start each bullet with a strong action verb: managed, created, led, improved. — প্রতিটি bullet শুরু করুন শক্তিশালী action verb দিয়ে: managed, created, led, improved।
- Use numbers to show results — '20% more sales' is stronger than 'many sales'. — ফলাফল দেখাতে সংখ্যা ব্যবহার করুন — 'many sales'-এর চেয়ে '20% more sales' শক্তিশালী।
- Save and send your CV as a PDF so the layout never breaks. — CV PDF হিসেবে সংরক্ষণ ও পাঠান, যাতে ফরম্যাট নষ্ট না হয়।

How long should a CV be?
For most jobs in Bangladesh, one to two pages is ideal. Only very senior candidates with long careers need more.
What is the difference between a CV and a resume?
In everyday use they mean almost the same short document. 'CV' is the more common word in Bangladesh and the UK; 'resume' is common in the US.
Should I add a photo to my CV?
Many Bangladeshi employers still expect a small, formal passport-style photo. If the job ad doesn't ask for one, a neat photo is optional.
Do I need to write full sentences on a CV?
No. Use short bullet points that start with action verbs, not full 'I…' sentences.
