Definition
A formal email has six parts: a clear subject line, a greeting (Dear ...), an opening line that states your purpose, the main message, a polite closing line, and a sign-off (Yours sincerely) with your full name.
Bangla Explanation
কাঠামো মনে রাখুন: Subject line → Greeting → Opening → Body → Closing → Sign-off। প্রথম বাক্যেই উদ্দেশ্য বলুন: 'I am writing to ...'। ফরমাল ইমেইলে সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ (don't, I'm) এড়িয়ে চলুন — পুরো রূপ (do not, I am) লিখুন।

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to apply for the advertised position.
Formal emails need a polite greeting and tone — no slang, no demands like 'reply fast'.
I dont have the certificate but its okay.
I do not have the certificate yet, but I can provide it soon.
Avoid contractions (dont, its) in formal writing and always use an apostrophe correctly (it's = it is).
Respected sir, kindly do the needful.
Dear Sir, I would be grateful for your help with this matter.
'Do the needful' and 'respected sir' are old translations from Bangla; use natural phrases like 'I would be grateful'.
(no subject line)
Subject: Request for a leave of absence
A formal email must have a short, clear subject line so the reader knows the topic at once.
Tips
- State your purpose in the very first line, then give details after.
- Match the greeting and sign-off: 'Dear Sir/Madam' pairs with 'Yours faithfully'; a named 'Dear Mr Khan' pairs with 'Yours sincerely'. — Greeting ও sign-off মিলিয়ে লিখুন: 'Dear Sir/Madam'-এর সাথে 'Yours faithfully'; নাম দিয়ে 'Dear Mr Khan'-এর সাথে 'Yours sincerely'।
- Keep one email to one topic and read it once before sending. —
- Write the full word, not the short form: 'I am', not 'I'm'. — সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ নয়, পুরো শব্দ লিখুন: 'I am', 'I'm' নয়।
