A descriptive paragraph is a paragraph that describes a person, place, thing, or moment in detail, using sensory words so the reader can imagine it clearly.
বর্ণনামূলক অনুচ্ছেদ হলো এমন একটি অনুচ্ছেদ যা কোনো ব্যক্তি, স্থান, বস্তু বা মুহূর্তকে বিস্তারিতভাবে বর্ণনা করে, ইন্দ্রিয়-শব্দ ব্যবহার করে যাতে পাঠক তা স্পষ্টভাবে কল্পনা করতে পারে।

সহজ template: (১) Topic sentence — কী বর্ণনা করছ তা এক লাইনে বলো। (২) Sensory details — পাঁচটি ইন্দ্রিয় ব্যবহার করো: দেখা (sight), শব্দ (sound), গন্ধ (smell), স্বাদ (taste), স্পর্শ (touch)। (৩) Order — চোখ যেভাবে চলে সেভাবে সাজাও (উপর থেকে নিচ, কাছ থেকে দূর)। (৪) Closing — একটি অনুভূতি বা সামগ্রিক ছাপ দিয়ে শেষ করো। 'nice', 'beautiful', 'good' এর মতো দুর্বল শব্দের বদলে নির্দিষ্ট শব্দ (golden, crowded, salty) ব্যবহার করো।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
The place was very nice and very beautiful and very good.
The garden glowed with orange marigolds and smelled of wet earth.
Vague words like 'nice' and 'good' show nothing; use specific sensory detail.
I saw a thing. It was there. It was big.
A huge banyan tree spread its dark branches over the whole yard.
Name things clearly and add detail instead of writing 'thing' and 'big'.
The room the chair the window the fan the bed the table.
Near the window stood a wooden chair, and a slow fan turned above the bed.
Describe in an order (near to far); do not just list objects.
It was raining and cold and I was very very very sad.
Cold rain tapped the window while I sat, quiet and low.
Repeating 'very' is weak; choose one strong word or a small image instead.

- End with the overall feeling the scene gives you, not just facts. — শুধু তথ্য নয়, দৃশ্যটি তোমাকে যে সামগ্রিক অনুভূতি দেয় তা দিয়ে শেষ করো।
