A paragraph is a group of sentences about one main idea. Almost all English writing — exam answers, essays, emails and reports — is built from good paragraphs. This guide gives you a simple three-part shape you can use every time.

A good paragraph has three parts: a topic sentence that states the main idea, two to four supporting sentences that explain or give examples, and a closing sentence that finishes the idea. Every sentence stays on the one topic.
একটি ভালো প্যারাগ্রাফে তিনটি অংশ থাকে: একটি topic sentence যা মূল ভাব বলে, দুই থেকে চারটি supporting sentence যা ব্যাখ্যা বা উদাহরণ দেয়, এবং একটি closing sentence যা ভাবটি শেষ করে। প্রতিটি বাক্য একই বিষয়ে থাকে।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
My school is big. I like mangoes. The bus was late.

Every sentence must stay on the one topic; jumping to mangoes and buses breaks unity.

Each new main idea needs its own paragraph — do not pack everything into one block.
