Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
Put a pillow on the sofa.
Put a cushion on the sofa.
On a sofa or chair we use 'cushions'. A 'pillow' is for the bed and your head.
I am seeing TV.
I am watching TV.
For TV, films and shows use 'watch', not 'see'. 'See' is more about noticing something with your eyes.
Open the TV, please.
Turn on the TV, please.
You 'turn on/off' a TV, lamp or fan — you do not 'open/close' them.
Give me the remote controller.
Give me the remote control. / the remote.
The device for the TV is a 'remote control' (or just 'the remote'). 'Controller' is usually for video games.

What is the difference between a cushion and a pillow?
A 'cushion' is the soft pad you sit on or lean against on a sofa or chair in the living room. A 'pillow' is what you rest your head on in bed. Living room = cushions, bedroom = pillows.
