Job and work vocabulary covers three areas: what people do (job titles like engineer, accountant, nurse), the workplace and its routines (salary, shift, deadline, colleague), and the process of getting and leaving work (apply, interview, hire, resign).
চাকরি ও কাজের শব্দভাণ্ডার তিনটি বিষয় নিয়ে: মানুষ কী করে (পদের নাম যেমন engineer, accountant, nurse), কর্মস্থল ও তার রুটিন (salary, shift, deadline, colleague), এবং কাজ পাওয়া ও ছাড়ার প্রক্রিয়া (apply, interview, hire, resign)।

কাজের কথা বলার সময় কয়েকটি জোড়া শব্দ গুলিয়ে যায়, খেয়াল রাখুন। 'job' মানে নির্দিষ্ট একটি চাকরি (গণনাযোগ্য — a job), আর 'work' মানে সাধারণভাবে কাজ (গণনাযোগ্য নয় — much work, work নয় 'a work')। 'salary' সাধারণত মাসিক বেতন (চাকরিজীবীর), 'wage' ঘণ্টা/দিন হিসেবে মজুরি। সহকর্মীকে 'colleague' বা 'coworker' বলুন। চাকরির জন্য 'apply for a job' (apply to নয়), চাকরি ছাড়তে 'resign' বা 'quit', আর কোম্পানি কাউকে বের করে দিলে 'fire' বা 'lay off'। ইন্টারভিউতে নিজের সম্পর্কে বলতে 'I have experience in…', 'I am responsible for…' phrase গুলো কাজে লাগে।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
I am searching a job.
I am looking for a job.
The natural phrase is 'look for a job' or 'search for a job' — 'search a job' (without 'for') is incorrect.
I have much works to do today.
I have a lot of work to do today.
'Work' is uncountable, so no 's' and no 'a'. Use 'a lot of work' or 'much work'; for a countable idea use 'tasks' or 'jobs'.
I applied to the marketing job.
I applied for the marketing job.
You apply FOR a job/position, but apply TO a company. Match the preposition to the noun.
My company fired 50 workers because of low sales.
My company laid off 50 workers because of low sales.
'Fire' means dismiss for poor performance or misconduct; 'lay off' means let staff go for business reasons, not their fault.

What is the difference between 'job' and 'work'?
'Job' is a countable noun for a specific paid position (I have a new job). 'Work' is usually uncountable and means the activity or place (I go to work; I have a lot of work). You cannot say 'a work'.
