How to End a Conversation in English
How to End a Conversation in English
Introduction
Ending a conversation well is just as important as starting one. A warm, polite goodbye leaves a good final impression instead of an awkward, sudden stop.
Definition
Ending a conversation means signalling that you're about to leave, thanking or complimenting the other person, and saying goodbye — for example, 'It was great talking to you. I should get going. Take care!'
It was great talking to you. I should get going. Take care!'
Bangla Explanation
বা "Well, it's getting late…"। (২) একটি কারণ দিন — "I should get going" বা "I've got to run"। (৩) উষ্ণ মন্তব্য করুন — "It was great talking to you"। (৪) ভবিষ্যতের ইঙ্গিত (ঐচ্ছিক) — "Let's catch up soon"। (৫) বিদায় — "Take care!", "See you around!"। বাংলা "বিদায় দিন"-কে সরাসরি "Give me leave" অনুবাদ করবেন না; বলুন "I should get going"। formal জায়গায় "It was a pleasure speaking with you" আর বন্ধুদের সাথে "Catch you later!"

Common Mistakes

It was great talking to you. Take care, bye!

Please give me leave now.
I should get going now.

I am going now. (flat, no closing)
I should get going — it was nice talking to you!
Announce it softly and add a friendly comment rather than a flat statement.
We will meet. Bye.
Let's catch up soon. Bye!
'We will meet' is vague; 'Let's catch up soon' is the natural, warm phrase.
