Speaking up in a meeting can feel harder than everyday chat — you have to give opinions, agree, disagree and interrupt without sounding rude. A toolkit of ready phrases makes it much easier in English.
মিটিংয়ে কথা বলা অনেক সময় সাধারণ আলাপের চেয়ে কঠিন মনে হয় — মতামত দিতে হয়, একমত/দ্বিমত হতে হয়, আবার রূঢ় না শুনিয়ে মাঝে কথা বলতে হয়। কিছু তৈরি বাক্য জানা থাকলে ইংরেজিতে এটা অনেক সহজ হয়ে যায়।

Meeting phrases are polite, professional expressions for the moves you make in a discussion: sharing an opinion, agreeing, disagreeing, interrupting, asking for clarity and summarising.
মিটিং বাক্য হলো আলোচনার প্রতিটি পদক্ষেপের জন্য কিছু ভদ্র, পেশাদার প্রকাশভঙ্গি: মতামত দেওয়া, একমত হওয়া, ভদ্রভাবে দ্বিমত করা, মাঝে কথা বলা, স্পষ্ট করে জানতে চাওয়া এবং সারাংশ করা।

মিটিংয়ে মতামত দিতে নরম ভাষা ব্যবহার করুন: “In my opinion …”, “I think we should …”, “How about …?”। একমত হলে “That's a good point” বা “I agree with you”। দ্বিমত করলেও ভদ্র থাকুন — সরাসরি “You are wrong” না বলে বলুন “I see your point, but …” বা “I'm not sure I agree, because …”। কেউ কথা বলছে, তার মাঝে ঢুকতে হলে “Sorry to interrupt, but …” বা “Can I add something here?”। কিছু না বুঝলে “Could you clarify what you mean?”। শেষে সারাংশ করতে “So, to sum up …”। মনে রাখবেন, ইংরেজি অফিস-সংস্কৃতিতে ভদ্র দ্বিমত স্বাভাবিক ও গ্রহণযোগ্য — কিন্তু ভাষাটা নরম হতে হবে।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
You are wrong.
I see your point, but I have a different view.
Flat contradiction sounds rude in a meeting; soften disagreement with 'I see your point, but…'.
According to me, the plan is bad.
In my opinion, the plan needs some changes.
'According to me' is not natural English — use 'In my opinion' or 'I think'.
I am agree with you.
I agree with you.
'Agree' is a verb, so no 'am' is needed: 'I agree', not 'I am agree'.
Please say again what you told.
Could you repeat that, please?
The natural request is 'Could you repeat that?' — 'what you told' is a translation error.

- Soften opinions with 'I think', 'Maybe we could…' or 'How about…?' so you sound open, not bossy. — মতামত নরম করুন 'I think', 'Maybe we could…' বা 'How about…?' দিয়ে — যাতে আপনাকে খোলা মনের মনে হয়, কর্তৃত্বপরায়ণ নয়।
- Disagree with the idea, not the person: 'I'm not sure that will work' is better than 'You are wrong'. — মানুষের সাথে নয়, ধারণার সাথে দ্বিমত করুন: 'You are wrong'-এর চেয়ে 'I'm not sure that will work' ভালো।
- Signal before you interrupt with 'Sorry to interrupt, but…' so it feels polite, not pushy. — মাঝে কথা বলার আগে 'Sorry to interrupt, but…' বলুন — যাতে এটা ভদ্র শোনায়, জোরজবরদস্তি নয়।
