Model Paragraph (191 words)
Self-confidence is the belief that one can handle what one attempts, and it is not the same as certainty of success. A confident person may fail and still try again, because his sense of himself does not depend on the last result. It is often confused with arrogance, but they are opposites in practice: an arrogant person needs to be seen as right, while a confident one can say he does not know without feeling smaller. Confidence is not a gift some people are born with. It is built the same way every time — by doing something small, surviving it, and doing a slightly harder thing next. A student who answers one question in class finds the second easier. Many of our students have very little of it, and the reasons are not mysterious. They are corrected in public and praised in private, taught to memorise rather than to argue, laughed at for a mispronounced English word, and compared with a cousin at every family gathering. A teacher who lets a wrong answer be explained rather than punished builds more confidence in a term than any lecture on the subject.

- How do I build confidence in English specifically?
- By speaking imperfectly on purpose — one question in class, one conversation a day. Waiting until your English is good enough is how people never start.
- Should I criticise the education system?
- A sentence or two, observed rather than angry. Public correction, memorisation and constant comparison are real causes, and naming them is honest.
- How should it end?
- With what a teacher or parent can do — letting a wrong answer be explained rather than punished. It gives the reader an action.
