A Summer Vacation Paragraph

Our summer vacation lasted three weeks in May, and I spent most of it at my grandparents' house in a village in Tangail. It was hot, so the useful hours were early and late. I read from six to eight in the morning, when the air was still bearable, and finished four books that were not on any syllabus, which is more than I manage in a whole term. The middle of the day was too hot to do anything, and the whole household slept after lunch under a fan that ran when there was electricity. In the afternoons I went out with my cousins. We swam in the pond, climbed for mangoes and jackfruit, flew kites from the field behind the house and once walked four kilometres to a fair. In the evenings my grandmother told us about the war and about what the village was like before the road came, and I understood that our family history was going to disappear if nobody asked her. I also finished my holiday homework, though not early. Three weeks were enough to be bored twice and glad of it, which a term never allows.

আখ্যান, past tense-এ। সবচেয়ে বড় ফাঁদ হলো তালিকা — 'সকালে পড়েছি, দুপুরে ঘুমিয়েছি, বিকেলে খেলেছি'। **দিনের ছন্দ ধরে সাজান** আর প্রতিটি অংশে একটা নির্দিষ্ট জিনিস দিন: কোন বই, কোন গাছ, কোথায় হেঁটে গিয়েছিলেন। ক্রম: (১) কতদিন, কোথায়; (২) গরমের কারণে দিনের ভাগ; (৩) **সকালের পড়া**; (৪) দুপুর; (৫) বিকেলের খেলা; (৬) **সন্ধ্যায় দাদির গল্প** — এই অংশটাই উত্তরটাকে আলাদা করে, কারণ এতে একটা উপলব্ধি আসে: কেউ জিজ্ঞেস না করলে পরিবারের ইতিহাস হারিয়ে যাবে; (৭) শেষ ভাবনা। শেষ বাক্যে সততা রাখুন — দুবার বিরক্ত হওয়ার সময়টাও ছুটির অংশ।
