“My sleep is coming.” In Bangla, sleep is the one that arrives — ঘুম পাচ্ছে — and you are only the place it arrives at. English makes you the subject and turns sleep into a description of you: I'm sleepy. That single reversal explains half the sleep sentences Bangladeshi learners produce, and once it is fixed the idioms below stop being decoration and start being usable.

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল

My sleep is coming.
I'm sleepy. / I'm feeling sleepy.
Bangla makes sleep the subject — আমার ঘুম পাচ্ছে — so learners translate it straight. English puts the person first and uses the adjective 'sleepy'.
I slept late last night, so I'm tired.
I went to bed late last night, so I'm tired.
In English 'sleep late' normally means to stay in bed until late in the morning, so the sentence says the opposite of what you mean. For রাতে দেরিতে ঘুমানো, use 'go to bed late' or 'stay up late'.
He is a night bird.
He is a night owl.
Bangla রাতজাগা পাখি tempts you to use 'bird', but the fixed English phrase names one particular bird: 'a night owl'.
He is sleeping since two o'clock.
He has been sleeping since two o'clock.
Bangla uses the present continuous for something that started earlier and is still going on. English needs the present perfect continuous after 'since' or 'for'.

'Sleep like a log', 'sleep like a baby' and 'sleep like a rock' all mean deep, unbroken sleep — use whichever you like, but keep the words of that phrase exactly as they are. — “Sleep like a log”, “sleep like a baby” ও “sleep like a rock” — তিনটিই গভীর, নিশ্ছিদ্র ঘুম বোঝায়; যেটি ইচ্ছা বেছে নিন, তবে বেছে নেওয়া বাক্যাংশের শব্দগুলো হুবহু রাখুন।

'Get up on the wrong side of the bed' means to be in a bad mood all day for no clear reason — a handy phrase when someone snaps at you in the morning. — “Get up on the wrong side of the bed” মানে কোনো স্পষ্ট কারণ ছাড়াই সারাদিন মেজাজ খারাপ থাকা — সকালবেলা কেউ খিটখিট করলে কথাটা কাজে লাগে।
'Not sleep a wink' already means 'not at all', so 'I didn't sleep a wink' is complete on its own — you can add 'all night', but you do not need 'at all' after it. — “Not sleep a wink” নিজেই “একটুও না” বোঝায়, তাই “I didn't sleep a wink” বললেই পূর্ণ — সাথে “all night” বসাতে পারেন, কিন্তু শেষে “at all” লাগে না।
