The other friend did not know how to climb. For a moment he stood helpless. Then he remembered that a bear does not touch a dead body. He lay down flat on the ground, held his breath and kept perfectly still. The bear came up to him and smelt his ears, his face and his chest. The man did not move a muscle, though his heart was beating fast. Believing him to be dead, the bear at last turned away and went back into the forest. When the danger had passed, the friend came down from the tree. He was smiling. "The bear put its mouth to your ear," he said. "What did it whisper to you?" The other friend looked at him steadily. "The bear gave me a piece of advice," he answered. "It told me never to travel with a friend who leaves me alone in danger." The first man hung his head in shame and could say nothing. They walked out of the forest together, but they were never friends again.

এই গল্পের সব ওজন শেষ সংলাপে। তাই আগের অংশ টানবেন না — ভালুক আসা, শুয়ে পড়া, শুঁকে চলে যাওয়া, ব্যস। "held his breath", "did not move a muscle" — এই ছোট বর্ণনাগুলো টানটান ভাব তৈরি করে। এক-দুইটি রাখলেই যথেষ্ট। শেষ উত্তরটি সরাসরি সংলাপে লিখুন, নিজে ব্যাখ্যা করবেন না। "It told me never to travel with a friend who leaves me alone in danger" — এই এক বাক্যেই moral এসে যায়।
