Sir, With due respect, we the students of class ten beg to state that our school has no common room for the students. During the tiffin period and in the gaps between classes we have nowhere to sit. In the hot months many of us stay in the corridor or under the trees in the field, and in the rainy season we crowd into the verandah, which disturbs the classes still going on. A common room would give us a quiet place to rest and read. Indoor games such as carrom and chess could be kept there, and the newspapers and magazines that now lie unread in the office could be placed on a table for everyone. It would also give the girls of our school a proper place of their own, which they particularly need. The room beside the science laboratory has been used only for storage for the last two years and would serve well with a few benches and a fan. We therefore pray and hope that you would be kind enough to arrange a common room for us and oblige thereby.
