English Vocabulary for Shapes and Sizes
আকার ও মাপের ইংরেজি শব্দভান্ডার
Introductionভূমিকা
We describe the things around us by their shape and size all the time — a round plate, a tall building, a long road. Learning the words for shapes and sizes, and the small rules for using them, lets you describe and compare objects and people clearly in English.
আমরা প্রতিনিয়ত জিনিসের আকার ও মাপ দিয়ে বর্ণনা করি — গোল থালা, উঁচু ভবন, লম্বা রাস্তা। আকার ও মাপের শব্দ এবং সেগুলোর ছোট নিয়মগুলো শিখলে জিনিস ও মানুষকে ইংরেজিতে পরিষ্কারভাবে বর্ণনা ও তুলনা করতে পারবেন।
Definitionসংজ্ঞা
Shapes and sizes vocabulary includes shape words (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, round) and size words (big, small, long, short, tall, wide, narrow, thick, thin), which are adjectives that describe how something looks.
Shapes and sizes vocabulary
Bangla Explanation

What is the difference between 'tall', 'long' and 'high'?
Use 'tall' for the height of people, trees and buildings (a tall man). Use 'long' for the length of flat or thin things (a long road). Use 'high' for how far something is above the ground (a high shelf).
What order do size and shape words go in?
Size comes before shape, and both come before colour: 'a big round red plate'. So say 'a small square box', never 'a square small box'.
What are the most common shape words in English?
Start with circle, square, triangle, rectangle and oval, plus the adjectives 'round', 'straight' and 'curved'. These cover almost everything you need to describe the shape of everyday objects.
