Everyday English is built from a small set of friendly words and phrases you use again and again — how you greet people, ask for something, agree, or say goodbye. Learn these first and you can hold a real conversation, even with a small vocabulary.

Daily conversation vocabulary means the high-frequency words and set phrases for greetings, small talk, requests, and polite replies — the language you actually speak at home, at work, and in the market.

প্রতিদিনের কথোপকথনে সব শব্দ শেখার দরকার নেই — কিছু 'chunk' বা তৈরি বাক্যাংশ মুখস্থ করলেই কাজ চলে। যেমন সালামের জন্য: 'How are you?', 'Nice to meet you.'; ভদ্রভাবে চাইতে: 'Could you please...?', 'Excuse me.'; একমত হতে: 'Sure.', 'No problem.'; বিদায়ে: 'See you later.', 'Take care.'। মনে রাখবেন — বাংলায় আমরা 'তুমি/আপনি' আলাদা করি, কিন্তু ইংরেজিতে 'you' একটাই; ভদ্রতা আসে 'please', 'could', 'would', 'thank you' শব্দ থেকে। ছোট ছোট বাক্যাংশ শুনে শুনে বলার অভ্যাস করুন, তাহলে দ্রুত ও স্বাভাবিকভাবে কথা বলতে পারবেন।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
I am fine, and you? (as the only reply, every time)
I'm good, thanks — how about you?
'I am fine' is not wrong, but native speakers vary it. 'I'm good/great/not bad' sounds more natural in daily talk.
Give me water.
Could I have some water, please?
A bare command sounds rude. Use 'could/can I have… please' to make a polite request.
What is your good name?
What's your name? / May I have your name?
'Good name' is a direct translation habit; English speakers just say 'your name'.
I am agree with you.
I agree with you.
'Agree' is a verb, not an adjective, so it does not take 'am' (no 'be' verb before it).

- Learn ready-made phrases ('chunks'), not just single words — 'How's it going?' is faster to recall than building it word by word. — একক শব্দ নয়, তৈরি বাক্যাংশ ('chunk') শিখুন — 'How's it going?' একবারে মনে আসে, শব্দ ধরে ধরে বানানোর চেয়ে দ্রুত।
- Keep polite words handy: please, thank you, sorry, excuse me. They make almost any sentence sound friendly. — ভদ্র শব্দগুলো হাতের কাছে রাখুন: please, thank you, sorry, excuse me। এগুলো প্রায় যেকোনো বাক্যকে বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ শোনায়।
- Group words by situation — greetings, shopping, phone calls — so the right words come together when you need them. — পরিস্থিতি অনুযায়ী শব্দ ভাগ করুন — সালাম, কেনাকাটা, ফোন কল — তাহলে দরকারের সময় ঠিক শব্দগুলো একসাথে মনে আসবে।
- Say new phrases out loud a few times; speaking, not just reading, is what makes them automatic. — নতুন বাক্যাংশ কয়েকবার জোরে বলুন; শুধু পড়া নয়, বলার অভ্যাসই সেগুলোকে স্বয়ংক্রিয় করে তোলে।

How many words do I need for daily conversation in English?
You can manage everyday talk with about 500–1000 common words plus a few dozen set phrases. Fluency is more about using frequent words and phrases confidently than about knowing rare words.
What is the fastest way to learn conversation vocabulary?
