Sharing what you think is a huge part of speaking English — in class, at work and with friends. Beyond 'I think', English has many natural phrases to give an opinion strongly or softly. This article shows you the ones people really use.
নিজের মত জানানো ইংরেজি বলার একটা বড় অংশ — ক্লাসে, অফিসে ও বন্ধুদের সাথে। 'I think'-এর বাইরেও ইংরেজিতে জোরালো বা নরমভাবে মত দেওয়ার অনেক স্বাভাবিক phrase আছে। এই লেখায় মানুষ সত্যিই যেগুলো বলে সেগুলোই দেখানো হলো।

Giving an opinion means telling people what you believe or feel about something. We usually signal it with an opening phrase such as 'In my opinion…', 'I think…' or 'If you ask me…' before the idea.
মতামত দেওয়া মানে কোনো বিষয়ে আপনি কী বিশ্বাস করেন বা অনুভব করেন তা জানানো। সাধারণত মূল কথার আগে 'In my opinion…', 'I think…' বা 'If you ask me…'-এর মতো একটা শুরু-phrase বসাই।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
According to me, this film is boring.
In my opinion, this film is boring.
'According to' is for other sources, not yourself. Use 'In my opinion' or 'I think' for your own view.
I think that no.
I don't think so.
To disagree with an idea, say 'I don't think so', not 'I think no'.
In my point of view, it's true.
From my point of view, it's true.
The fixed phrase is 'from my point of view', not 'in my point of view'.
I am think it is good.
I think it is good.
'Think' here is a simple present verb — 'I think', not 'I am think'.

- Start with a signal phrase ('I think…', 'In my opinion…') so listeners know an opinion is coming. — একটা সংকেত-phrase দিয়ে শুরু করুন ('I think…', 'In my opinion…') যাতে শ্রোতা বোঝে মত আসছে।
- Soften strong opinions with 'I guess' or 'It seems to me' when you're not fully sure. — পুরোপুরি নিশ্চিত না হলে 'I guess' বা 'It seems to me' দিয়ে মত নরম করুন।
- After giving your view, invite others: 'What do you think?' keeps the conversation balanced. — মত দেওয়ার পরে অন্যদের জিজ্ঞেস করুন: 'What do you think?' কথোপকথন ভারসাম্যপূর্ণ রাখে।
- Give a reason with 'because…' — an opinion with a reason sounds more convincing. — 'because…' দিয়ে একটা কারণ দিন — কারণসহ মত বেশি বিশ্বাসযোগ্য শোনায়।

What can I say instead of 'I think' all the time?
Try 'In my opinion…', 'If you ask me…', 'Personally…', 'It seems to me…' or 'As far as I'm concerned…'. Mixing these makes your English sound more natural.
