Long English sentences feel scary because so much information arrives at once. But every long sentence is just a short main sentence with extra pieces added around it. Once you learn to find the main part first, long sentences become easy to read.
বড় ইংরেজি বাক্য ভয় লাগায়, কারণ একসাথে অনেক তথ্য আসে। কিন্তু প্রতিটি বড় বাক্য আসলে একটি ছোট মূল বাক্য, যার চারপাশে অতিরিক্ত অংশ যোগ করা থাকে। আগে মূল অংশটা খুঁজে বের করা শিখলে বড় বাক্য পড়া সহজ হয়ে যায়।

A long sentence usually has one main clause (a subject + a main verb that can stand alone) plus extra clauses and phrases that add detail. Reading it well means finding the main clause first, then attaching the extra pieces.
একটি বড় বাক্যে সাধারণত একটি মূল clause থাকে (একটি subject + একটি main verb, যা একা দাঁড়াতে পারে), আর সাথে অতিরিক্ত clause ও phrase থাকে যা বিস্তারিত যোগ করে। ভালোভাবে পড়া মানে আগে মূল clause খুঁজে বের করা, তারপর বাকি অংশ জোড়া দেওয়া।

কৌশল খুব সহজ। প্রথমে বাক্যের main verb (মূল ক্রিয়া) খুঁজুন, তারপর তার subject (কে কাজটা করছে) বের করুন — এই দুটো মিলে বাক্যের মূল অর্থ। বাকি অংশ শুধু অতিরিক্ত তথ্য। কমা (,) এবং সংযোগকারী শব্দ যেমন because, although, which, who, that, when — এগুলোকে ট্রাফিক সিগন্যালের মতো ভাবুন; এখানে বাক্যটা টুকরো টুকরো হয়। মনে মনে extra অংশগুলোকে বন্ধনী [ ] দিয়ে আলাদা করুন, তাহলে ভেতরের মূল বাক্যটা স্পষ্ট দেখা যাবে। ধীরে পড়ুন, শব্দের দল (phrase) ধরে পড়ুন, একটি একটি শব্দ ধরে নয়।

Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
Reading every word one by one and losing the meaning by the end.
Read in chunks (phrases), then find the main subject and verb.
Meaning lives in groups of words, not single words; chunking keeps the whole idea in mind.
Ignoring commas and linking words like because, although, which, who.
Treat commas and linking words as signals to pause and split the sentence.
These words mark where one part ends and another begins, so they show you the natural pieces.
Giving up as soon as a sentence looks long.
Find the one main verb first — that unlocks the core idea, and the rest is just detail.

- Find the main verb first, then ask 'who or what does it?' to find the subject. — আগে main verb খুঁজুন, তারপর 'কে বা কী কাজটা করছে?' জিজ্ঞেস করে subject বের করুন।
- Mentally put brackets [ ] around extra parts that start with who, which, that, because, although. — who, which, that, because, although দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া অতিরিক্ত অংশে মনে মনে বন্ধনী [ ] দিন।
- Read the sentence twice: once quickly for the shape, once slowly for the details. — বাক্যটা দুইবার পড়ুন: একবার দ্রুত গঠন বোঝার জন্য, একবার ধীরে বিস্তারিত বোঝার জন্য।
- If a part can be removed and the sentence still makes sense, it is extra information. — কোনো অংশ বাদ দিলেও যদি বাক্যের অর্থ ঠিক থাকে, সেটা অতিরিক্ত তথ্য।
