The English L looks easy — Bangla has ল too. But English actually has two L sounds: a 'clear L' at the start of words and a 'dark L' at the end. Getting the dark L right is what makes words like 'ball' and 'milk' sound natural.

Saying 'ball' with a thin Bangla 'ল' at the end.
Say 'ball' with a dark L — raise the back of the tongue, add a light 'ul' shade.
End-of-word L in English is dark, not the light Bangla ল, so a thin L sounds foreign.
Adding a vowel inside clusters: 'milk' → 'মিলোক', 'film' → 'ফিলিম'.
Keep L and the next consonant together: 'milk', 'film', 'help'.
Inserting a vowel breaks the cluster and the natural English rhythm.
Confusing L with R: saying 'right' for 'light'.
For L the tongue tip firmly touches behind the teeth; for R it touches nothing.
L needs contact and R needs none — mixing them changes the word.
