Six Seasons of Bangladesh Paragraph

Bangladesh is a country of six seasons, and each of them lasts two Bengali months. Grishmakal, the summer of Baishakh and Jaishtha, is hot and dry, when ponds shrink, kalbaishakhi storms break over the fields in the evening, and mango, jackfruit and litchi ripen. Barshakal, the rainy season of Ashar and Sraban, brings the monsoon: the rivers fill, the fields turn to water, kadam flowers open and the whole country smells of wet earth. Sharatkal, autumn, is the loveliest — a clear blue sky, white clouds moving high, and kashful swaying white along the riverbanks. Hemantakal, late autumn, is the harvest, when the new paddy comes home and villages hold nabanna. Shitkal, winter, is dry and misty, with cold mornings, date juice from the trees at dawn and pithas made in every house. Basantakal, spring, is called the king of seasons, when new leaves come, the koel calls all day and the flame of the forest turns red. The seasons are not as distinct as they once were, because a changing climate has stretched the summer and shortened the winter, but the cycle still shapes our farming, our festivals and our songs.

বাংলাদেশ ছয় ঋতুর দেশ, প্রতিটি ঋতু দুই বাংলা মাস। গ্রীষ্মকাল — বৈশাখ ও জ্যৈষ্ঠ — গরম ও শুকনো; পুকুর শুকিয়ে আসে, সন্ধ্যায় মাঠের উপর কালবৈশাখী ভাঙে, আম-কাঁঠাল-লিচু পাকে। বর্ষাকাল — আষাঢ় ও শ্রাবণ — নিয়ে আসে বর্ষা: নদী ভরে ওঠে, মাঠ পানিতে ডোবে, কদম ফোটে, গোটা দেশ ভেজা মাটির গন্ধে ভরে যায়। শরৎকাল সবচেয়ে সুন্দর — স্বচ্ছ নীল আকাশ, উঁচুতে ভেসে চলা সাদা মেঘ, নদীর পাড়ে দুলতে থাকা সাদা কাশফুল। হেমন্তকাল ফসলের কাল, নতুন ধান ঘরে ওঠে, গ্রামে নবান্ন হয়। শীতকাল শুকনো ও কুয়াশাচ্ছন্ন — ঠান্ডা সকাল, ভোরে গাছ থেকে খেজুরের রস, ঘরে ঘরে পিঠা। বসন্তকালকে বলা হয় ঋতুরাজ — নতুন পাতা আসে, সারাদিন কোকিল ডাকে, পলাশ লাল হয়ে ওঠে।

ছয়টা ঋতুকে ছয়টা ছোট অংশ দিন, প্রতিটিতে **নাম, মাস, আবহাওয়া, একটা নির্দিষ্ট ছবি**। ছবিটাই আসল — কালবৈশাখী, কদম, কাশফুল, নবান্ন, খেজুরের রস, কোকিল। বাংলা শব্দগুলো ইংরেজিতে রেখেই দিন (kashful, nabanna, pitha), অনুবাদ করতে গেলে অর্থ হারায়। শেষে একটা সৎ পর্যবেক্ষণ রাখুন: **জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনে ঋতুগুলো আর আগের মতো আলাদা নয় — গ্রীষ্ম দীর্ঘ, শীত ছোট**। প্রায় কোনো উত্তরে এটা নেই, অথচ এটাই দেখায় আপনি মুখস্থ করেননি, লক্ষ করেছেন।
