Sir, With due respect, we the inhabitants of Biralakhi village beg to draw your kind attention to the miserable condition of the road that connects our village with the upazila town. The road has not been repaired for the last six years. Large potholes have formed all along it, and during the rainy season these fill with water and become impossible to cross. The consequences are serious. Schoolchildren reach the high school wet and late, and many stop going altogether in the monsoon. Farmers cannot carry their vegetables to the town market in time, so they are forced to sell at a lower price at the village gate. Last month a patient being taken to the health complex at night had to be carried on a bamboo stretcher because no vehicle could pass. The stretch from the primary school to the bazaar, about half a kilometre, is the worst and needs attention first. We therefore pray and hope that you would be kind enough to take necessary measures to repair the road before the next rains and oblige thereby.
