নোট নেওয়ার মূল কথা: কম লিখুন, কিন্তু কাজের কথা লিখুন। পুরো বাক্য টুকবেন না — মূল শব্দ (keyword) লিখুন। একটি সহজ পদ্ধতি হলো পাতাকে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা: বাঁ পাশে মূল শব্দ বা প্রশ্ন, ডান পাশে ব্যাখ্যা। নতুন অচেনা শব্দ পেলে সেটি আর তার অর্থ আলাদা করে লিখে রাখুন। প্রতিটি অনুচ্ছেদ শেষে থেমে এক লাইনে নিজের ভাষায় লিখুন 'এখানে মূল কথা কী ছিল'। symbol ব্যবহার করুন — গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পয়েন্টে তারা (*), বুঝতে না পারলে প্রশ্নবোধক (?)। পড়া শেষ হলে নোটগুলো একবার পড়ুন; এতে মনে রাখা পাকা হয়। মনে রাখবেন, সব দাগালে কিছুই আলাদা হয়ে ওঠে না — তাই শুধু সবচেয়ে দরকারি অংশ দাগান।
