The schwa /ə/ is the most common sound in English — a short, weak, relaxed 'uh'. It appears in the unstressed syllables of words like banana, about and teacher, and mastering it is the fastest way to sound natural.

The schwa /ə/ is a neutral, unstressed vowel made with a relaxed mouth. Almost any written vowel (a, e, i, o, u) can be reduced to schwa when its syllable is not stressed: about = 'uh-BOUT', teacher = 'TEE-chuh'.
