Model Paragraph (198 words)
Expatriate workers are the Bangladeshis who go abroad for employment, most of them to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Qatar and Oman. More than ten million of our people work outside the country, and the money they send home is the second largest source of our foreign exchange after ready-made garments. That money does not sit in a bank in Dhaka. It builds a tin-roofed house in a village, pays for a sister's marriage, buys a rickshaw or a piece of land, and keeps a whole family in school. Their own lives are far harder than the money suggests. Most sell land or borrow at high interest to pay recruiting agents, and the first two years abroad often go entirely in repaying that debt. They work long hours in extreme heat in construction and cleaning, live many to a room, and sometimes have their passports held or their wages withheld with no way to complain. Some return home injured or in a coffin. A country that lives on their earnings owes them more than praise: honest recruitment, a fixed and enforced migration cost, training before departure, real embassy support, and a fair welcome at the airport.

Expatriate workers send much money and our country becomes rich.
Remittance is our second largest source of foreign exchange after garments.
Place the fact accurately. 'Becomes rich' is neither true nor informative.
They live a very luxurious life abroad.
They work long hours in extreme heat and live many to a room.
This is the misconception the paragraph exists to correct, and it is why so many families borrow to send someone.
Government should send more people abroad.
A fixed and enforced migration cost would do more than sending greater numbers.
Numbers are not the problem; the cost and the cheating are. The remedy should answer the cause you gave.
- Is remittance our largest export earner?
- Second, after ready-made garments. Getting the order right matters, because both figures appear in the same question.
- Should I write about the difficulties they face?
- Yes — it is what separates a strong answer from a celebration of remittance. Agent fees, debt, heat, crowded rooms and withheld wages are all documented.
- What remedy should I end with?
- Honest recruitment and a capped, enforced migration cost, plus training and real embassy support. These answer the problems you raised.
