Discipline means obedience to rules and the habit of controlling oneself. The sun rises and sets at fixed times, the seasons follow one another in order, and the tide obeys the moon. If nature broke its rules for a single day, life would end. Human life needs the same order. In a family, discipline means respect for elders and a fixed routine for study, meals and sleep. In school it means reaching class on time, keeping silence, and finishing work when it is due. In national life it means obeying traffic rules, paying taxes honestly, standing in a queue and keeping public places clean.
