Native speakers do not talk slowly like textbooks — they link words, swallow sounds and shrink whole phrases. Fast English feels impossible until you learn its patterns. Once you know how words blend, the speed stops being a wall.
Native speaker-রা বইয়ের মতো ধীরে কথা বলে না — তারা শব্দ জোড়া দেয়, কিছু শব্দ গিলে ফেলে, পুরো phrase ছোট করে ফেলে। এই নিয়মগুলো না জানলে দ্রুত ইংরেজি অসম্ভব মনে হয়। কিন্তু শব্দ কীভাবে মেশে বুঝলে গতি আর দেয়াল থাকে না।

Fast English is really connected speech: separate words join together, unstressed words weaken, and common phrases contract, so "What do you want to do?" becomes "Wha-d-ya wanna do?"
দ্রুত ইংরেজি আসলে connected speech — আলাদা শব্দ জোড়া লাগে, জোর না-পড়া শব্দ দুর্বল হয়, সাধারণ phrase ছোট হয়। তাই "What do you want to do?" শোনায় "Wha-d-ya wanna do?"।

গতি নয়, সমস্যা হলো শব্দ কীভাবে মেশে সেটা না জানা। চারটি প্যাটার্ন শিখলেই ৮০% সমাধান: (১) Linking — ব্যঞ্জন শেষে স্বর শুরু হলে জোড়া লাগে: "turn it off" → "tur-ni-toff"। (২) Weak forms — to, of, and, for, can দুর্বলভাবে বলা হয়: "and" শোনায় "n", "can" শোনায় "kn"। (৩) Contractions — I'll, they've, would've দ্রুত মিশে যায়। (৪) Dropped sounds — "next day" শোনায় "nex day" (t পড়ে যায়)। এগুলো ভুল উচ্চারণ নয়, এটাই স্বাভাবিক দ্রুত ইংরেজি। প্রথমে transcript পড়ে জেনে নিন কোন শব্দগুলো আছে, তারপর শুনে মেলান — কান ধীরে ধীরে অভ্যস্ত হবে।

The weak "have" sounds like "of", but the real grammar is could/would/should have.
Trying to catch every single word at full speed.
Catching the stressed key words that carry meaning.
English stresses the important words; grabbing those gives you the message even if weak words blur.
Blaming your ears when you miss dropped sounds.
Learning that sounds like final 't' are often dropped.
It is a rule of connected speech, not a hearing problem; once you expect it, you stop being confused.

Why do native speakers sound so fast?

Should I ask people to speak slowly?
