A process diagram in IELTS Academic Task 1 shows how something is made or how a natural cycle works, stage by stage. Instead of numbers, you describe steps in order — so structure, sequencing words and the passive voice matter most.

A process diagram is a visual of a sequence of stages — a manufacturing process (making cement) or a natural cycle (the water cycle). Your job is to report each stage in the correct order using clear linking language.
Process diagram হলো ধাপের একটি ক্রমের ছবি — যেমন উৎপাদন প্রক্রিয়া (সিমেন্ট তৈরি) বা প্রাকৃতিক চক্র (পানিচক্র)। আপনার কাজ হলো সঠিক ক্রমে প্রতিটি ধাপ পরিষ্কার linking শব্দ দিয়ে বর্ণনা করা।

Process diagram-এ চার প্যারাগ্রাফের কাঠামো ব্যবহার করুন: (১) প্রশ্নটি নিজের ভাষায় প্যারাফ্রেজ করে introduction, (২) overview — মোট কয়টি ধাপ, প্রক্রিয়াটি কোথায় শুরু ও কোথায় শেষ, এবং চক্র কিনা, (৩–৪) ধাপগুলোর বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা। বেশিরভাগ ধাপ passive voice-এ লিখুন কারণ কে করছে সেটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নয় — কী ঘটছে সেটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ (যেমন “the water is heated”, “the beans are dried”)। ক্রম বোঝাতে first, then, next, after that, subsequently, finally ব্যবহার করুন। কোনো opinion বা কারণ ব্যাখ্যা করবেন না — শুধু ধাপগুলো রিপোর্ট করুন। present simple tense-এ লিখুন।

- Write a separate overview sentence that states how many stages there are and where the process starts and ends. — একটি আলাদা overview বাক্য লিখুন যা বলে মোট কয়টি ধাপ আছে এবং প্রক্রিয়া কোথায় শুরু ও শেষ হয়।
- Vary your sequencers — do not start every sentence with 'then'. Use 'subsequently', 'following this', 'at this stage'. — sequencer বদলে বদলে ব্যবহার করুন — প্রতিটি বাক্য 'then' দিয়ে শুরু করবেন না। 'subsequently', 'following this' ব্যবহার করুন।
- Check whether the process is a cycle; if it is, say so and link the last stage back to the first. — প্রক্রিয়াটি চক্র কিনা দেখুন; হলে সেটা উল্লেখ করুন এবং শেষ ধাপকে প্রথম ধাপের সাথে যুক্ত করুন।
