Meaning

To speak to God, or to hope for something very strongly.

A common mistake

I prayed God for his help.→I prayed to God for his help.

কার কাছে প্রার্থনা — 'pray to'; কীসের জন্য — 'pray for'। দুটো preposition দুটো আলাদা কাজ করে।
