A common mistake

Polyester keeps you cooler than cotton, because it is thin and dries so fast.→It dries fast precisely because it absorbs almost no water — and that is also why it holds sweat against the skin instead of taking it up, which in this climate feels considerably hotter. Cotton absorbs the sweat and lets it evaporate through the cloth.
