Model Dialogue (282 words)
Ruhi: Did you see the news? A mobile court fined four shops in our market yesterday. Saad: For what? Ruhi: Adulteration. Chemicals in the fish to keep it fresh, and colour in the sweets that is not meant for food at all. Saad: I am not surprised. My mother says the mangoes ripen too evenly to be natural. Ruhi: They often are ripened with a chemical. The problem is that the harm is invisible. Nobody falls down after one meal, so nobody connects it to anything. Saad: Then how does it show up? Ruhi: In kidney and liver disease years later, and in children who do not grow properly. Doctors here have been saying it for a long time. Saad: Why do the sellers do it? Ruhi: Because it pays and the risk is small. A fine is cheaper than losing a whole stock, and the mobile court comes once in six months. Some of them do not even know how dangerous what they use is. Saad: Can we do anything as buyers? Ruhi: Some things. Avoid food with an unnatural colour, buy fish that still smells of the river rather than of nothing, wash fruit and vegetables in salt water, and cook at home more than you eat outside. Saad: That is not a solution, though. Ruhi: No. The real answer is regular testing, licences that can actually be cancelled, and punishing the supplier rather than only the shop at the end of the chain. Saad: We could write to the newspaper about our own market. Ruhi: Let us do that this week. Name nobody, describe what we saw, and ask for regular inspection. Saad: Agreed. I will draft it tonight.

- What is the strongest point in this dialogue?
- That the harm is invisible and delayed, so nobody connects the illness to the meal. It explains why the problem persists.
- Should the speakers propose a remedy?
- Yes, but a structural one — regular testing, licences that can be cancelled, and punishing the supplier rather than only the last shop.
- How does this differ from the paragraph on food adulteration?
- The content overlaps but it must be split into questions and answers between two people, with a decision at the end. Copying a paragraph loses the format marks.
