Information transfer gives you a passage and an empty table or flow chart, and asks you to move the facts across. Five marks, and the fastest five on the paper once you know the trick: the headings tell you what to look for, so you read them first and the passage second. Students who do it the other way round read the whole passage twice and still guess.
Information transfer-এ একটি অনুচ্ছেদ আর একটি ফাঁকা ছক বা flow chart দেওয়া হয়, তথ্যগুলো সরিয়ে বসাতে হয়। **৫ নম্বর** — আর কৌশলটা জানলে এটাই পুরো প্রশ্নপত্রের সবচেয়ে দ্রুত পাঁচ নম্বর: **শিরোনামগুলোই বলে দেয় কী খুঁজতে হবে**, তাই আগে শিরোনাম, পরে passage। উল্টোটা করলে passage দুবার পড়েও অনুমান করতে হয়।

Information transfer means taking specific facts from a reading passage and placing them into a given format — usually a table, a flow chart or a set of numbered boxes — without copying whole sentences.
Information transfer মানে একটি অনুচ্ছেদ থেকে নির্দিষ্ট তথ্য নিয়ে দেওয়া কাঠামোয় — সাধারণত ছক, flow chart বা সংখ্যাযুক্ত ঘরে — বসানো, গোটা বাক্য কপি না করে।

SSC ইংরেজি **প্রথম পত্রে** unseen passage থেকে এই আইটেম **৫ নম্বরের**। **ধাপ ১ — আগে ছক পড়ুন, passage নয়।** কলামের শিরোনাম দেখেই বুঝে যাবেন কী ধরনের তথ্য খুঁজতে হবে — নাম? সময়? কারণ? ফল? এই এক ধাপেই কাজটা অর্ধেক হয়ে যায়। **ধাপ ২ — শিরোনাম দেখে খোঁজার লক্ষ্য ঠিক করুন:** | শিরোনাম | passage-এ যা খুঁজবেন | |---|---| | Name / Who | বড় হাতের অক্ষরে শুরু হওয়া শব্দ | | Time / When / Year | সংখ্যা, তারিখ, 'in 1971', 'every morning' | | Place / Where | স্থানের নাম, 'in', 'at' | | Cause / Why | 'because', 'due to', 'as a result of' | | Effect / Result | 'so', 'therefore', 'as a result' | | Steps / Process | 'first', 'then', 'after that', 'finally' | **ধাপ ৩ — passage একবার পড়ুন, পেন্সিল হাতে।** যে তথ্যগুলো ছকের ঘরে যাবে, দাগিয়ে যান। খুঁজে বেড়াবেন না — শিরোনাম জানা আছে বলে চোখ নিজেই ধরবে। **ধাপ ৪ — ছোট করে লিখুন।** ছকের ঘরে **গোটা বাক্য নয়** — শব্দ বা ছোট বাক্যাংশ। 'The Padma Bridge was opened in 2022' নয়, শুধু **'2022'**। **ধাপ ৫ — flow chart হলে ক্রম মিলিয়ে নিন।** Flow chart-এ ঘটনার ক্রম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। passage সাধারণত ক্রমেই লেখা থাকে, তাই ছকের ঘরগুলোও উপর থেকে নিচে সেই ক্রমেই ভরবে। **ধাপ ৬ — সব ঘর ভরুন।** একটা ঘরও ফাঁকা রাখবেন না। নিশ্চিত না হলেও শিরোনামের সাথে মেলে এমন কিছু লিখুন। **গুরুত্বপূর্ণ:** এখানে নিজের ভাষায় লেখার দরকার নেই — এটা summary নয়। passage-এর শব্দই ব্যবহার করুন, শুধু ছোট করে।

- Heading 'Year' → write '1952', not 'The movement started in 1952.'ঘরে শুধু তথ্যটুকু — গোটা বাক্য নয়।
- Heading 'Cause' → look for because, due to, owing to, as a result of.কারণ বোঝানো শব্দগুলোই সংকেত।
- Heading 'Effect' → look for so, therefore, consequently, as a result.ফল বোঝানো শব্দগুলো খুঁজুন।
- Flow chart step words: first → then → after that → finally.Flow chart-এ ক্রম বোঝানো শব্দগুলোই ঘরের ক্রম ঠিক করে দেয়।
- Heading 'Place' → 'in Sylhet', or simply 'Sylhet'.Preposition বাদ দিয়ে শুধু নামটা লিখলেই যথেষ্ট।
Common Mistakesসাধারণ ভুল
Writing a full sentence in each box of the table.
Writing only the word or phrase the heading asks for.
The boxes are sized for facts. A sentence wastes time and often buries the answer the examiner is looking for.
Reading the passage first and the headings afterwards.
Reading the headings first, then the passage once with a pencil.
Without the headings you do not know what to notice, so you end up reading the passage twice.
Filling a flow chart in the order you find things, not the order they happen.
Following the sequence words — first, then, after that, finally.
A flow chart is marked on sequence. Right facts in the wrong order still lose marks.
Leaving a box empty because the passage does not say it clearly.
Writing the nearest thing the passage does say.
Every box carries a mark and there is no penalty for a wrong answer.
Rewriting the information in your own words.
Using the passage's own words, shortened.
This is transfer, not summary. Paraphrasing adds risk with no reward.

- Read the column headings before you read a single line of the passage. — Passage-এর একটি লাইন পড়ার আগেই কলামের শিরোনামগুলো পড়ুন।
- Count the boxes. That is how many pieces of information you are hunting for — no more. — ঘর গুনে নিন। ঠিক ততগুলো তথ্যই খুঁজতে হবে — বেশি নয়।
- Keep each box to a word or a short phrase. — প্রতিটি ঘরে একটি শব্দ বা ছোট বাক্যাংশ।
- Use the passage's own words. This item does not reward paraphrasing. — Passage-এর শব্দই ব্যবহার করুন — এখানে নিজের ভাষায় লিখে বাড়তি নম্বর নেই।

How many marks is information transfer worth?
Five marks in the SSC English first paper, set on the unseen passage. It is one of the quickest items to finish once you read the headings first.
Do I write sentences in the table?
No. Each box takes a word or a short phrase — the fact itself. Full sentences waste time that the ten-mark summary needs.
What if the passage gives the information out of order?
Fill the table by its own headings, not by the order you read things. For a flow chart, follow the sequence words in the passage.
Is a flow chart marked differently from a table?
The content is marked the same way, but a flow chart also marks the order of the steps, so getting the sequence right matters as much as getting the facts right.
