A common mistake

A slipped disc means one of the vertebrae has slipped out of its place.→The bones stay where they are. Between each pair sits a soft disc, and it is that disc which bulges or tears so that its inner material presses on a nerve — which is why the pain is often felt down a leg rather than in the back itself.
